Scientific curiosity drives innovation. Boehringer Ingelheim establishes partnerships
in which both parties complement each other in helping to discover products
that significantly enhance health and quality of life. To support this mission,
Boehringer Ingelheim is an active sponsor in the scientific community. We also
support several academic and fellowship programs that share the goal of discovering,
profiling and developing products of high therapeutic value. Read more

IMP
The Research
Institute of Molecular Pathology (IMP) - is a basic biomedical
research center sponsored largely by Boehringer
Ingelheim. IMP is a center of excellence in molecular biology and genetic
research.
Yale University
The alliance between Yale University and Boehringer Ingelheime creates a framework for collaborations of mutual interest
that will move basic research in immunological and in cardiovascular
diseases to applied technologies and therapies. In addition, Boehringer
Ingelheim has provided philanthropic support for both the School
of Medicine and the Faculty of Arts and Sciences for a number of years. The
most significant gifts to date have been in support of the STARS (Science,
Technology and Research Scholars) program, which has helped scores of students
from under-represented backgrounds excel in the sciences as undergraduates
and prepare for careers in science and medicine.
Evotec
Evotec
OAI and Evotec Neurosciences have a three year collaboration
with Boehringer Ingelheim. The companies aim to jointly identify
and develop small molecule therapeutics acting on selected G-Protein Coupled
Receptors.
Trans
Tech Pharma
TransTech Pharma and Boehringer Ingelheim initiated
a drug discovery collaboration. The aim of the
collaboration is to discover and develop novel small molecules
as therapeutics.
PREVENT-IT
This community-based clinical
trial aims to identify novel approaches for the prevention
and treatment of cardiovascular diseases The trial is conducted
in collaboration between Boehringer Ingelheim and the Johannes-Gutenberg-University
in Mainz, Germany.
The goal is to identify correlations between cardiovascular risk
and gene expression using novel genomic and proteomic technologies.
AbGenomics
Boehringer Ingelheim and AbGenomics
Corporation have established a collaboration and license agreement
providing Boehringer Ingelheim with the worldwide exclusive rights to develop,
manufacture and commercialize an AbGenomics Corporation’s
therapeutic monoclonal antibody.
UCONN School of Pharmacy
Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals
Inc. has committed a large monetary contribution to support the
School of Pharmacy.
The Boehringer Ingelheim Dosage Forms Laboratory Suite, a state-of-the-art
facility, will be used for teaching and research in the areas
of drug formulation, manufacturing, and quality assessment.
Syntonix
Syntonix Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and Boehringer
Ingelheim have established a collaboration to optimize certain Boehringer
Ingelheim therapeutic
peptides for inhalation treatment options.

The Heinrich Wieland Prize, sponsored by Boehringer Ingelheim, recognizes commitment to the field of metabolic diseases promoting
research on chemistry, biochemistry, physiology and clinical
medicine of lipids and related substances.
FENS
The Boehringer Ingelheim FENS Research Award recognizes
young European scientists for outstanding research in the field
of neurosciences.
APOPIS
The Boehringer Ingelheim APOPIS Awards honor
young scientists for their efforts in investigating abnormal
protein aggregation in neurodegenerative diseases.
