Boehringer Ingelheim Chemicals, Inc. produces active pharmaceutical ingredients (API’s) for Boehringer Ingelheim affiliates and for the pharmaceutical industry in general. The company practices a wide variety of chemistry to meet our clients’ needs including heterocyclic, nucleoside and chiral chemistry.
Our Petersburg, Virginia site is registered with the FDA and the DEA, and produces a variety of controlled substance products. The site also produces potent compounds as well as standard API’s. A major expansion project is underway which will lead to additional active ingredient manufacturing capacity by 2009.
The manufacturing capabilities of the site include a Pilot Plant/Launch Facility designed to carry product opportunities from bench scale through Pilot Plant to commercial manufacture. Boehringer Ingelheim Chemicals, Inc. also has a strong regulatory compliance unit on site that assures our clients of reliable adherence to all regulatory requirements.
Boehringer Ingelheim Chemicals also markets products in the U.S. that are produced by an affiliate company, Boehringer Ingelheim GmbH, in Ingelheim, Germany.
