At each step along the way in the development and launch of a new therapy, our people draw upon their ingenuity, skill and determination. But we have learned that the highest achievement in the work sphere comes when an employee’s home life, family life, social life and community life can all contribute to their professional success.
Caring for our people means respecting all the facets of their lives and helping them achieve a healthy work/home effectiveness: whether through on-site child care or at-home nursing for a recovering parent; providing health programs than emphasize fitness, wellness and preventative care; encouraging and supporting community volunteering that they find rewarding.
We live our family-focused values through our commitment to our family of employees. The programs we offer are as diverse as the employees themselves. Our business units and locations are empowered to design and implement programs that support and reflect the passions and priorities of the employee populations. Here are just a few examples:
Employee Health Fairs
An annual event offering informational booths, screening tests and a confidential survey to identify at-risk health concerns for the entire employee population. In 2007, Ben Venue Laboratories introduced two new programs: Commit to Quit, for smoking cessation and Commit to Get Fit, for smart, achievable weight loss.
Apple Blossom Children’s Learning Center
Emphasizing discovery, wonder and imagination, this is more than a day care center, this is truly a learning center. Parents at the Ridgefield Corporate facility have the security of knowing their children are close by and thriving while they focus on the work at hand.
Life Support
Our employee-focused programs extend beyond the office or lab: Ridgefield’s On The Mend program provides in-home care for ill or recuperating family members of employees; Pre-Retirement Seminars ensure employees are financially prepared for life after work; BI Chemical’s Safe Driving/Seat Belt Awareness programs protect our employees wherever they go.
