Disease State: Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder (HSDD)

Educational Objectives

  1. Prepare clinicians to better engage in respectful, productive conversation with women  regarding the role of sexual health in their overall well-being.

  2. Share current epidemiologic information describing the prevalence, incidence, societal burden and personal impact of female sexual dysfunction and its desire disorder of HSDD.

  3. Share current evidence describing physiologic mechanisms which support healthy sexual functioning in women and which, when they go awry, produce sexual desire dysfunction.  

  4. Enable clinicians to better identify and diagnose women with sexual dysfunction and its desire disorder of HSDD.

  5. Describe integrated approaches to management of diagnosed women patients with sexual dysfunction and its HSDD desire disorder, which may include sexual therapy and other evidence-based interventions.
