- Improve healthcare provider’s knowledge of risks associated with chronic HCV infection
- Improve awareness of risks of liver morbidity and mortality associated with undiagnosed HCV and under-treatment of HCV disease.
- Increase knowledge of HCV support resources.
- Increase patient’s and healthcare provider’s knowledge of modes of exposure to HCV infection.
- Improve healthcare provider’s ability to select for screening, those individuals at high risk for HCV.
- Improve healthcare provider’s attitudes regarding risk behaviors and sensitivity toward socio-demographically distinguishable high risk sub-populations.
- Improve healthcare provider’s knowledge of the goals of treatment for patients with chronic HCV infection and co-morbidities with HCV (e.g. HIV)
- Improve healthcare provider’s awareness of barriers to treatment, options for treatment resistance and treatment failures, and approaches to mitigate and manage treatment-induced side effects.
